Travel Resources

Planning a trip can feel like a military operation, especially when you’re travelling with kids. Over the years we’ve tested plenty of booking tools, apps and websites while planning our own trips, from family holidays in Crete to a Christmas trip to New York.

These are the travel resources we genuinely use when planning our trips. No endless lists, just the tools that have actually helped us find good flights, book accommodation and make travelling with kids a little easier.

āœˆļø Jack’s Flight Club
We’ve found some brilliant flight deals through Jack’s Flight Club over the years. It’s especially useful if you’re flexible with dates and looking for affordable flights during school holidays, which is normally when we travel.

šŸØ Booking.com
We book most of our accommodation through Booking.com. The filters make it easy to find family-friendly places with things like pools or separate bedrooms, and the free cancellation on many properties gives us flexibility if plans change.

šŸ—ŗļø Google Maps
Google Maps is hands down one of our most used travel tools. I save all the restaurants, sightseeing spots, beaches, and hidden gems I come across when researching, then when everything’s pinned, it’s so much easier to plan out an itinerary that actually makes sense. No zig zagging across town or wasting time, just a logical route that works for family travel.

šŸ—£ļø Translation App
We like using Google Translate when we’re somewhere with a language barrier. It’s brilliant for menus, road signs, or quick chats with locals, especially when you’ve got a toddler and hand gestures only go so far.

šŸŽ’ Packing Cubes
Packing cubes on Amazon are great. Not only do they keep everything organised, but they also save loads of space in your suitcase as they have a double zip which compresses everything.
