About Tiny Toes Big Trails
I started this blog after travelling with my daughter and realising how hard it was to find honest family travel advice that wasn’t built around luxury hotels or unlimited budgets.
We’re a normal UK family juggling work, school runs and holidays, trying to see as much of the world as we can along the way.
Most of our trips are planned around real life. Affordable flights, manageable itineraries, and places that actually work with young kids.
Sometimes that means a festive day out close to home in the North West. Other times it’s a bigger adventure like New York at Christmas or a beach escape to Crete. Since starting this blog, we’ve shared detailed guides from trips including New York, Crete, Gozo and Disneyland Paris, alongside family days out around Liverpool and the North West.
Everything you’ll find here is based on places we’ve genuinely visited, the good bits, the chaotic bits, and the practical tips we wish we’d known beforehand.

Why Tiny Toes Big Trails
The name came from the idea that little feet can still lead to big adventures.
Travelling with children might look different to pre-kids trips, but it doesn’t have to stop the adventure. Sometimes it just means slowing down a little, choosing destinations more carefully, and embracing the unexpected moments along the way.
What you’ll find on the blog
Here you’ll find:
• Family travel guides based on real trips
• Honest reviews of places we’ve stayed or visited
• Practical tips for travelling with babies, toddlers and young children
• UK days out (especially around Liverpool and the North West)
• Destination guides across Europe and the USA
Everything is written from real experience, not press trips or sponsored stays.

A little about us
We’re a family from Liverpool, travelling whenever we can, whether that’s a Christmas light trail down the road or a bigger trip abroad.
Like most families, we’re balancing work, childcare and budgets. This blog is simply our way of sharing the places that have worked for us, and hopefully helping other families plan their own adventures.
Places we’ve travelled
Before starting Tiny Toes Big Trails, travel had already taken me to many parts of the world, including backpacking around Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, volunteering in Uganda, and visiting other places like Mexico, Croatia, Montenegro and many more. These trips sparked my love of exploring new places long before we started travelling as a family.
These days our adventures look a little different, with trips planned around school holidays and travelling with young children. The blog focuses on destinations we’ve visited together as a family, including: New York, Disneyland Paris, Crete, Gozo and UK family days out. You can explore all of our guides on the destinations page.
