We visited Disneyland Paris in February 2024 with our almost three year old daughter, and I’ve shared everything we learned along the way, from toddler friendly rides and whether February is a good time to visit, to whether the Disney meal plan is worth it and our honest review of Hotel Cheyenne.

Chania, Crete

Chania harbour

We visited Chania in June 2025 with our then four year old daughter, and it was the perfect mix of sun, sea and culture. Chania Old Town is full of pastel buildings, cobbled streets and beautiful boutique shops overlooking the Venetian harbour. Our daughter loved exploring, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made it feel incredibly family friendly.

Gozo, Malta

Blue Lagoon, Gozo

We visited Gozo in 2022, staying in a lovely Airbnb with a private pool in the quiet town of Qala. Our relatives have a family home there, which gave us a glimpse into local life rather than the typical tourist experience.

Gozo completely surprised us. The pace is slower, the water is crystal clear, and some beaches feel wonderfully untouched. With family planning to spend much of their retirement there, we’re sure we’ll be back many times.

Lyme Park House - UK

As I’m based in the UK, much of my local content focuses on family friendly days out, currently with a strong festive theme. From Christmas light trails to National Trust parks and seasonal events, these are places we’ve visited ourselves with our children.

I’m from Liverpool but work in London, so you’ll also start to see more content covering London days out, weekend itineraries and ideas for those travelling into the capital, whether for work or a child free city break.

Christmas days out in the North West

Christmas is our favourite time of year, and we love nothing more than seeing the excitement and magic on our children’s faces. Each year we make it our mission to explore different Santa grottos and festive light trails.

Living in Liverpool means most of our experiences are based in the North West, and you’ll find all of my detailed Christmas guides below.

Statue of Liberty

We visited New York City in late 2024 with our three year old daughter, travelling alongside my aunt, who has been in a long distance relationship with a New Yorker for over 20 years. We were lucky enough to spend 10 days being shown around by someone who truly knows the city, from iconic landmarks to neighbourhood favourites you might otherwise miss.

Visiting in December added an extra layer of magic. From festive markets and towering Christmas trees to skyline views and Broadway performances, it felt every bit as cinematic as you’d hope, but with a surprisingly family friendly side when you know how to plan it.
