๐ŸŽ„ Story Time with Santa at Liverpool Town Hall โ€“ A Magical Christmas Experience for Kids

Just so you know: This post contains affiliate links. If you click through and make a booking or purchase, I may earn a small commission โ€” at no extra cost to you.

If youโ€™re looking for Christmas things to do in Liverpool with kids, let us introduce you to a hidden festive gem: Story Time with Santa at Liverpool Town Hall. We hadnโ€™t even heard of this event until recently, and now I think we will be making it an annual visit.

Tucked inside one of Liverpoolโ€™s most iconic and grand buildings, this festive experience felt both personal and magical.

Hereโ€™s what you need to know if you’re planning a visitโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ“ Where is Story Time with Santa?

The event is held on the ground floor of Liverpool Town Hall, right in the heart of the city centre. Itโ€™s a building that many locals walk past daily, but stepping inside feels like something really special, especially when itโ€™s decorated for Christmas.

From the moment you walk in, the festive dรฉcor, twinkling lights and historic charm make it feel like you’ve been invited into somewhere truly magical.

๐ŸŽ… The Santa Experience: Warm, Witty and Wonderfully Intimate

This wasnโ€™t your average quick photo and go visit with Santa. The whole experience felt intimate and relaxed which is something thatโ€™s really hard to come by in the busy run up to Christmas.

The Santa here was incredible, so warm, and very quick witted. He made time for every child, asking questions and sharing gentle humour that parents could appreciate too. It really felt like he saw each child as an individual, and our little one came away absolutely glowing.

Thereโ€™s no forced photo or awkward rush, just a lovely, thoughtful experience that makes children feel really special.

๐Ÿ“š Pick a Book to Keep!

After story time with Santa, each child is invited to choose their very own book to keep. There was a brilliant range of titles, something for every age and interest and it made such a nice change from the usual plastic toys or branded merchandise.

It also meant we left with something that encourages the magic of Christmas and reading.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Is it Baby and Toddler Friendly?

Yes, though itโ€™s worth noting:

> The entire experience is on the ground floor, and prams are welcome in the building, but you’ll be asked to leave your buggy just outside of the storytelling room, as the space inside is quite small.
> It’s a lovely, calm setup which is ideal for children who might find louder events overwhelming.
> There’s no queuing or chaos, which made it really easy to navigate with little ones in tow.

๐Ÿ’ท Prices & Value for Money

In my opinion, this might be one of the best value Santa experiences in Liverpool.

> ยฃ25 for 1 adult + 1 child
> Additional child or adult tickets are ยฃ10 each (subject to availability)

For the setting, the personal time with Santa, and the book to take home, it felt like really good value.

๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ Duration & Practical Information

> The full experience lasts around 45-60 minutes.
> Story time takes place in a small room full of gorgeous Christmas decorations, chairs for the adults, and the children have the option to sit on the floor in front of Santa.
> You’ll have plenty of time to chat with Santa and take your own photos
> The book table is at the end, so children can browse and choose their gift before leaving

๐Ÿ’ก Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?

Absolutely. If youโ€™re local to Merseyside and looking for a festive family experience without the crowds or high price tags, Story Time with Santa at Liverpool Town Hall is a must do.

Itโ€™s ideal for under 7s, though older children who love a bit of Christmas magic and a good book will still enjoy it. The setting feels truly special, the atmosphere is calm and joyful, and the Santa is one of the best weโ€™ve come across.
